The project entailed creating a visually compelling and artistically representative business card for @leash.tattoos, a tattoo artist whose work is recognized for its intricate use of negative space. The original artwork, designed in Procreate, had to be refined and processed for print, which required transforming the file into a vector format using Adobe Illustrator. This task was handled by Ferris Smith, an expert in digital art preparation, to ensure that the intricate details were preserved, and the image could be successfully reproduced at high quality.
The print job was meticulously planned to achieve a high-end finish. The cards were designed in a 2” x 3.5” U.S. standard business card format, printed on 16 pt. cardstock with a silk lamination. The front of the card features copper foil detailing, while a spot UV effect was applied to emphasize key elements of the design, adding texture and depth. The back of the card holds the necessary contact information and social media links in a minimalist, elegant format.
Copper foil was chosen for the front due to its luxurious and warm finish, complementing the organic and delicate nature of the tattoo art. The combination of foil, silk lamination, and spot UV effects created a tactile experience that made the business card not only a visual representation of the brand but also a memorable physical object. The intricate interplay of the elements resulted in a sophisticated, polished final product that stands out in a competitive market.
The decision not to round the corners retained a sharp, contemporary feel to the design, enhancing the professional and refined aesthetic. The high-quality materials and finishes used in the printing process contributed to a business card that is not only a marketing tool but also an extension of the artist’s identity, embodying the same attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into their tattoos.

A total of 1,000 business cards were produced, with a turnaround time of 8 business days. The finished product exceeded expectations, delivering a card that is not only practical in terms of communication but also a reflection of @leash.tattoos’ unique artistic style.
This project stands as an example of how branding materials can be elevated through the thoughtful integration of original artwork, expert design processing, and premium print finishes, resulting in a distinctive and memorable product.
